LRRC10B, a member of the LRRC protein family, is expressed primarily in cardiac and skeletal muscle, though its specific functions remain under investigation. Preliminary studies suggest it plays a role in myocyte differentiation and sarcomere assembly, contributing to the structural integrity and function of muscle fibers. Its expression during developmental stages indicates a role in muscle growth and regeneration, while bioinformatics analyses suggest links to pathways involved in muscle repair and myopathies. Evolutionary conservation across vertebrates underscores its likely critical biological function, although specific molecular mechanisms are not yet fully understood. Mutations or altered expression of LRRC10B have been tentatively associated with congenital myopathies and muscle-wasting diseases, and emerging research is exploring its potential involvement in mechanosensing and intracellular signaling pathways in muscle tissue.
