Observed MW
Calculated MW: 36.6 kDa Observed MW (SDS-PAGE): 20 kDa Possible reasons why the actual band size differs from the predicted band size: 1. Splice variants. Alternative splicing may create different sized proteins from the same gene. 2. Relative charge. The composition of amino acids may affect the charge of the protein. 3. Post-translational modification. Phosphorylation, glycoslyation, methylation etc. may affect the band size. 4. Post-translational cleavage. Many proteins are synthesised as pro-proteins, and then cleaved to give the active form. 5. Polymerisation of the target protein. Dimerisation, multimerisation etc. will increase the band size observed.

Note
THIS PRODUCT IS FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY. NOT FOR USE IN DIAGNOSTIC, THERAPEUTIC OR COSMETIC PROCEDURES. NOT FOR HUMAN OR ANIMAL CONSUMPTION.
To keep the original salt concentration, we recommend reconstituting to the original concentration prior to lyophilization (see Concentration) in ddH2O. If a lower concentration is required, dilute in 20 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, pH 8.0. If a higher concentration is required, the product can be reconstituted directly in 20 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, pH 8.0, though please note that this will change the overall salt concentration. The stock concentration should be between 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex.
Concentration: Prior to lyophilization: 200 µg/ml

Descripción

CXCR2 is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds IL-8 and other CXC chemokines like Groα, Groβ, and NAP-2. It is mainly expressed on neutrophils, endothelial cells, and monocytes, mediating chemotaxis, neutrophil activation, and cytokine release during inflammation. CXCR2 signaling activates pathways such as PI3K, MAPK, and NF-κB, while its rapid desensitization and internalization regulate signal duration. CXCR2 is critical for immune surveillance and inflammation but also contributes to diseases like COPD, asthma, and rheumatoid arthritis due to excessive neutrophil infiltration. In cancer, CXCR2 promotes tumor progression, angiogenesis, and metastasis by recruiting myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and endothelial cells to the tumor microenvironment, enhancing immunosuppression and vascularization. CXCR2 inhibition reduces tumor growth and inflammation, highlighting its therapeutic potential. It also regulates leukocyte trafficking and tissue repair but contributes to pathologies like cystic fibrosis and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) when dysregulated. Overall, CXCR2 is key for immune cell recruitment and inflammation, balancing host defense with disease progression.
