Descripción
IGSF16, also known as CT-like protein, is expressed in various tissues, including the immune system and nervous system. It features multiple Ig-like domains, which mediate its role in cell adhesion and immune responses. IGSF16 participates in cellular signaling pathways, contributing to immune cell activation and migration. While its exact function remains under investigation, IGSF16 is thought to play a role in maintaining immune homeostasis and promoting cell-cell interactions during development and immune responses. Dysregulation of IGSF16 may be associated with autoimmune diseases and inflammatory conditions.
