Background

FZD10 is a Wnt receptor predominantly mediating canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling, playing crucial roles in embryogenesis, tissue regeneration, and tumor progression. It is highly expressed in the nervous system, skeletal tissues, and certain cancers. During development, FZD10 regulates processes like cell proliferation, differentiation, and tissue patterning, particularly in neural and skeletal systems. In cancer, FZD10 is overexpressed in tumors such as synovial sarcoma, colorectal cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma, where it drives Wnt/β-catenin signaling to promote cell survival, proliferation, and metastasis. Its expression correlates with poor prognosis, therapy resistance, and enhanced tumor progression. FZD10 also plays roles in tissue repair and regeneration by regulating stem cell behavior and promoting cell renewal.
