Descripción
ANKRA1 is a protein that contains ankyrin repeat domains, which are known for mediating protein-protein interactions. ANKRA1 is involved in cellular processes such as transcriptional regulation, signal transduction, and chromatin remodeling by serving as an adaptor protein that links different protein complexes. ANKRA1 has been identified as an interactor with histone deacetylases (HDACs), suggesting its role in modulating gene expression through chromatin structure alteration. This interaction allows ANKRA1 to participate in transcriptional repression and epigenetic regulation of gene activity. ANKRA1 is also implicated in cellular differentiation and immune signaling pathways, particularly in the regulation of inflammatory responses.
