Descripción
DDB1 and CUL4 associated factor 8 like 2 (DCAF8L2) is another member of the DCAF family, closely related to DCAF8 and DCAF8L1. Like its paralogs, DCAF8L2 contains WD40 repeats that enable substrate recognition and interaction with the CUL4-DDB1 E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. DCAF8L2 is believed to play a role in ubiquitination-mediated degradation of proteins involved in transcription, signaling, and cell cycle regulation. Its tissue-specific expression suggests that it may have specialized roles in certain physiological contexts. Although little is currently known about its specific biological functions and substrates, DCAF8L2 likely participates in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress signals. Future studies will help elucidate its precise contributions to cellular function and potential roles in disease.
