Note | Validity: The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
CD151 is a cell-surface protein belonging to the tetraspanin family, a group of transmembrane proteins involved in cell signaling, adhesion, and migration. This protein, encoded by the CD151 gene, is expressed on a wide range of cell types, including epithelial cells, endothelial cells, platelets, and certain hematopoietic cells. CD151 is known to interact with various integrins—primarily integrins α3β1, α6β1, and α6β4—which are crucial for cellular adhesion to the extracellular matrix (ECM) and in forming stable cellular junctions. CD151 is a key player in numerous physiological processes, including wound healing, angiogenesis, hemostasis, and immune responses. Additionally, this protein has been implicated in various diseases, notably cancer metastasis, kidney disease, and platelet-related disorders. Given its integral role in cellular adhesion and signaling, CD151 is considered a therapeutic target in certain diseases.

CD151 antibody
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins and other transmembrane 4 superfamily proteins. It is involved in cellular processes including cell adhesion and may regulate integrin trafficking and/or function. This protein enhances cell motility, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode the same protein have been described for this gene.
