Descripción
ANKRD18B is closely related to ANKRD18A and contains ankyrin repeat domains that mediate interactions with other proteins. Like its paralog, ANKRD18B is involved in transcriptional regulation and may function as a scaffold protein in signaling pathways. ANKRD18B has been suggested to play a role in cell growth, differentiation, and stress responses, particularly under conditions of metabolic or environmental stress. Dysregulation of ANKRD18B has been observed in certain cancers, where it may contribute to tumor cell proliferation, survival, and migration. Its role in protein-protein interactions highlights its importance in coordinating cellular responses and maintaining homeostasis during normal and pathological conditions. Further studies are needed to fully elucidate its specific functions and mechanisms of action.
