Note | Validity: The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
ANAPC5 is a structural subunit of the Anaphase-Promoting Complex/Cyclosome (APC/C) that contributes to the stability and assembly of the complex. It interacts with other subunits to form the platform necessary for substrate recognition and ubiquitination. ANAPC5 facilitates the recruitment of co-activators such as CDC20 and CDH1, which are required for targeting specific proteins for proteolysis during the cell cycle. By promoting the degradation of regulators like securin and cyclin B, ANAPC5 ensures proper chromosome segregation and mitotic exit. Loss or mutation of ANAPC5 impairs APC/C function, leading to cell cycle arrest, chromosomal instability, and an increased risk of cancer. ANAPC5’s role in the structural integrity of APC/C highlights its importance in maintaining genomic stability and normal cell division. Dysregulation of ANAPC5 is a hallmark of mitotic errors often observed in tumorigenesis.

This gene encodes a tetratricopeptide repeat-containing component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a large E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls cell cycle progression by targeting a number of cell cycle regulators such as B-type cyclins for 26S proteasome-mediated degradation through ubiquitination. The encoded protein is required for the proper ubiquitination function of APC/C and for the interaction of APC/C with transcription coactivators. It also interacts with polyA binding protein and represses internal ribosome entry site-mediated translation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. These differences cause translation initiation at a downstream AUG and result in a shorter protein (isoform b), compared to isoform a.
