Background

ANAPC5 is a structural subunit of the Anaphase-Promoting Complex/Cyclosome (APC/C) that contributes to the stability and assembly of the complex. It interacts with other subunits to form the platform necessary for substrate recognition and ubiquitination. ANAPC5 facilitates the recruitment of co-activators such as CDC20 and CDH1, which are required for targeting specific proteins for proteolysis during the cell cycle.
