Note | Validity: The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
HTR1E, another subtype of the serotonin receptor family, is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that mediates serotonin's inhibitory effects on neurons. HTR1E is expressed in regions such as the cerebral cortex and hippocampus, where it plays a role in regulating mood, memory, cognition, and synaptic plasticity. Unlike other serotonin receptors, HTR1E has a relatively limited expression pattern, which suggests specialized functions in cortical and hippocampal circuits. It inhibits the activity of adenylyl cyclase, reducing cyclic AMP (cAMP) levels and contributing to the regulation of neuronal excitability. HTR1E has been implicated in the pathophysiology of cognitive disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, as well as in mood disorders like depression and anxiety. Experimental studies indicate that targeting HTR1E can enhance cognitive function and reduce symptoms of stress-induced anxiety by modulating serotonergic signaling pathways. Its role in regulating synaptic transmission and neuroprotection makes HTR1E a promising therapeutic target for diseases involving cognitive decline, neuroinflammation, and mood dysregulation. Further research is needed to explore its full therapeutic potential, particularly in improving memory and executive functions.
