Background

GAB1 is an adaptor protein involved in signal transduction downstream of receptor tyrosine kinases, such as EGFR, FGFR, and MET. It serves as a scaffold for proteins like PI3K, SHP2, and PLCγ, modulating pathways including PI3K/Akt, MAPK/ERK, and JAK/STAT. GAB1 is essential for processes like cell growth, survival, migration, and differentiation, particularly during embryonic development and organogenesis. It plays a key role in epithelial tissue morphogenesis, angiogenesis, and liver regeneration.
