Descripción

ADGRD2, also referred to as GPR144, is another adhesion GPCR predominantly expressed in the central nervous system and reproductive tissues. Similar to ADGRD1, it contains a GAIN domain responsible for receptor cleavage and activation. ADGRD2 has been implicated in neurodevelopmental processes such as synaptic formation, axonal pathfinding, and neural connectivity. The receptor is also involved in modulating immune responses by interacting with extracellular matrix components and other cell surface proteins. It likely signals through cAMP and calcium-dependent pathways, regulating cellular homeostasis and proliferation. Though less studied compared to ADGRD1, ADGRD2's altered expression has been observed in certain cancers and inflammatory disorders, suggesting its potential role in pathology and as a candidate for targeted drug therapies.
