Descripción
Estrogen related receptor gamma (ESRRG), also known as ERRγ, is a nuclear receptor that regulates a wide range of biological processes, including mitochondrial function, energy metabolism, and cellular differentiation ESRRG is expressed in various tissues, including the heart, brain, and skeletal muscle, where it helps control the transcription of genes involved in oxidative phosphorylation and mitochondrial biogenesis It plays a central role in maintaining cellular energy balance by regulating the expression of genes involved in energy production and metabolism In addition to its metabolic roles, ESRRG is involved in regulating the development of the cardiovascular system, the central nervous system, and adipose tissue Dysregulation of ESRRG has been linked to metabolic diseases, including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, as well as certain cancers, where altered mitochondrial function contributes to tumorigenesis ESRRG’s role in regulating energy metabolism and mitochondrial function makes it an important target for therapeutic strategies aimed at treating metabolic and cardiovascular diseases as well as improving mitochondrial health
