Descripción
ADGRE1, also known as EMR1 (Epidermal Growth Factor-Like Module Containing Mucin-Like Hormone Receptor 1), is a member of the adhesion G protein-coupled receptor family expressed predominantly in macrophages and other immune cells. It plays a significant role in immune regulation, particularly in processes like phagocytosis and inflammatory responses. ADGRE1 is characterized by extracellular EGF-like domains that mediate cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. It has been implicated in the regulation of tissue homeostasis and macrophage activation in various inflammatory conditions. Dysregulation of ADGRE1 is associated with autoimmune diseases and chronic inflammation, highlighting its role in modulating immune cell functions and maintaining immune equilibrium.
