Background

ANAPC15 is a core component of the Anaphase-Promoting Complex/Cyclosome (APC/C) that functions to stabilize the catalytic module of the complex. ANAPC15 interacts with ANAPC11, the RING finger subunit, and E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes to support the ubiquitination of key cell cycle regulators such as cyclin B and securin. ANAPC15 ensures the proper activation of APC/C during mitosis, facilitating the degradation of substrates required for the metaphase-to-anaphase transition. Dysregulation of ANAPC15 can impair the proteolytic activity of the APC/C, resulting in defective chromosome segregation, mitotic arrest, and genomic instability. Such defects are associated with tumorigenesis and cell proliferation abnormalities.
