Descripción
Tumor Necrosis Factor Superfamily Member 8 (TNFSF8), also known as CD30L, is a membrane-bound cytokine and a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. It interacts with CD30, a receptor predominantly expressed on activated T cells and certain cancer cells, to regulate immune responses and cellular proliferation. TNFSF8 plays a role in T-cell activation, differentiation, and apoptosis, particularly in inflammatory and autoimmune processes. Its expression is upregulated in conditions such as Hodgkin's lymphoma, anaplastic large cell lymphoma, and chronic inflammation, making it a target of interest for therapeutic intervention. Dysregulation of TNFSF8 signaling contributes to immune disorders and malignancies, emphasizing its role in maintaining immune system homeostasis.
