Background

Asymmetrical dimethylarginine (ADMA) is an endogenous molecule that competitively inhibits nitric oxide synthase (NOS), thereby reducing nitric oxide (NO) production and impairing vascular tone, endothelial function, and blood flow. As a key regulator of NO bioavailability, ADMA is a critical factor in cardiovascular health.
