Descripción

Arylacetamide deacetylase like 4 (AADACL4) is another serine hydrolase that shares functional similarities with other members of the AADACL family, particularly in its involvement in lipid hydrolysis and metabolism. AADACL4 is expressed in a range of tissues, including metabolic and epithelial tissues, where it contributes to the breakdown of ester-linked lipids. It is thought to play a role in lipid signaling and energy regulation by modulating the availability of lipid-derived signaling molecules. While the precise physiological roles of AADACL4 are not fully elucidated, it has been implicated in maintaining cellular lipid homeostasis and supporting metabolic adaptation in response to nutritional and environmental changes. Dysregulation of AADACL4 may be linked to lipid metabolism disorders, and its enzymatic activity represents a potential target for therapeutic strategies in metabolic and lipid-related diseases. Further studies are needed to clarify its specific substrates and functional impact in cellular metabolism.
