Description
TWIST1, a basic helix-loop-helix protein which acts as a transcriptional regulator, plays a central role in differentiation of mesodermal during embryogenesis. It is also implicated in tumorigenesis, invasion and metastasis. TWIST1 forms both homodimers(45KD) and heterodimers with E2A E proteins, and dimer partner selection is a critical mediator of TWIST function.(PMID:14724576, 16502419).

TWIST1-specific antibody
Twist-related protein 1(TWIST1), also named as BHLHA38, is 202 amino acid protein, which contains one bHLH domain. TWIST1 localizes in the nucleus and acts as a transcriptional regulator. TWIST1 inhibits monogenesis by sequestrating E proteins and inhibits tans-activation by MEF2. TWIST1 is expressed in subset of mesodermal cells. The antibody reacts specifically with twist1 protein.
