LRRC18 is a lesser-characterized member of the LRRC family with suggested roles in immune responses and cellular signaling based on its expression in lymphoid tissues studies have identified LRRC18 as being involved in the regulation of T cell activation and differentiation as it interacts with key signaling pathways associated with immune synapse formation emerging evidence indicates its potential role in modulating inflammatory responses particularly through cytokine release and receptor crosstalk in immune cells its expression pattern suggests involvement in hematopoietic cell function and immune surveillance although its exact biological mechanisms remain to be fully characterized bioinformatics analyses suggest links to signal transduction and membrane trafficking processes LRRC18 may also contribute to tumor immunology by modulating immune cell infiltration and activity within the tumor microenvironment further studies are needed to define its interactions and assess its therapeutic potential in immunological diseases and cancer
