Estrogen related receptor beta (ESRRB) is another member of the estrogen-related receptor family, playing a key role in regulating embryonic development, stem cell maintenance, and metabolic homeostasis ESRRB, also known as ERRβ, is expressed in a variety of tissues, including the brain, lung, and reproductive organs, where it regulates the expression of genes involved in stem cell differentiation, energy metabolism, and cellular stress responses ESRRB is crucial for the development and function of the central nervous system, and it is involved in neurogenesis and synaptic plasticity Additionally, ESRRB plays a role in regulating lipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity, influencing energy homeostasis and fat storage in tissues like the liver and adipose tissue Dysregulation of ESRRB has been associated with diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders, obesity, and metabolic syndrome, where impaired energy regulation and mitochondrial dysfunction contribute to disease progression Its involvement in stem cell maintenance and tissue regeneration makes ESRRB a potential target for regenerative medicine and cancer therapies
