Descripción
ANKRD13D is another member of the ANKRD13 family that contains ankyrin repeats and is involved in protein trafficking and ubiquitination. Similar to other ANKRD13 family members, ANKRD13D regulates the stability, localization, and degradation of membrane and cytosolic proteins. It interacts with ubiquitin-binding domains and components of the endosomal system, participating in the selective sorting and recycling of proteins. ANKRD13D is thought to play a role in cellular signaling pathways by modulating the availability and activity of receptors and signaling proteins. Dysregulation of ANKRD13D has been associated with cellular dysfunction, contributing to the development of cancers and disorders involving disrupted proteostasis. Its function in protein quality control and trafficking highlights its significance in regulating cellular signaling and homeostasis.
