Descripción

ANXA2 is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein involved in membrane organization, endocytosis, and exocytosis. It plays critical roles in actin cytoskeleton remodeling, facilitating cell adhesion, migration, and vesicular trafficking. ANXA2 is also implicated in angiogenesis and fibrinolysis by serving as a co-receptor for plasminogen and tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), promoting fibrin degradation. Overexpression of ANXA2 has been linked to cancer progression, particularly in breast, lung, and colorectal cancers, where it enhances tumor cell migration, invasion, and metastasis. Additionally, ANXA2 is associated with viral replication, particularly in influenza and hepatitis viruses, making it a therapeutic target for infectious diseases and cancers.
