Descripción
ANKRD6, also known as Diversity And Specificity Armadillo (DIVERSIN), is a critical regulator of the Wnt signaling pathway, which controls cell fate, proliferation, and differentiation during embryonic development and tissue homeostasis. ANKRD6 interacts with components of the β-catenin destruction complex to regulate the degradation of β-catenin, a key effector of canonical Wnt signaling. In addition, ANKRD6 modulates the non-canonical Wnt pathway, influencing processes like cell polarity and migration. ANKRD6 is essential for developmental processes, including organ formation and stem cell regulation, and its dysregulation has been linked to cancer progression and developmental disorders. Its role as a Wnt pathway regulator highlights its importance in maintaining proper signaling and cellular organization.
