Descripción
ANKRD20A3, a paralog of ANKRD20A1, is another member of the ankyrin repeat domain 20 family. Like its family members, ANKRD20A3 contains ankyrin repeat motifs that facilitate protein-protein interactions involved in cellular signaling, transcriptional regulation, and cytoskeletal organization. While its exact biological role remains to be fully defined, ANKRD20A3 may function as a scaffold protein that regulates the localization and activity of signaling molecules. Its expression in certain tissues suggests it could play a role in cell growth, differentiation, or stress responses. Dysregulation of ANKRD20A3 may contribute to diseases involving aberrant protein interactions, such as cancers and developmental disorders. Further studies are needed to clarify its functions and mechanistic involvement in cellular processes.
