Descripción
ALDH3B2 is closely related to ALDH3B1 and functions in detoxifying reactive aldehydes derived from lipid peroxidation and xenobiotic metabolism. ALDH3B2 is predominantly expressed in metabolically active tissues, where it protects cells from oxidative stress and aldehyde toxicity. It catalyzes the oxidation of formaldehyde, 4-HNE, and other toxic carbonyl compounds, playing a key role in cellular detoxification and maintaining redox balance. ALDH3B2 has been implicated in preventing DNA and protein damage caused by reactive aldehydes, thereby contributing to cellular protection in oxidative stress conditions. Dysregulation of ALDH3B2 may be associated with metabolic and degenerative disorders, as aldehyde accumulation can impair cellular function and promote inflammation. While its specific role in disease remains under investigation, ALDH3B2 is a potential therapeutic target for reducing aldehyde toxicity and improving cellular resilience to oxidative stress.

Aldehyde Dehydrogenase 3 Family Member B2 (ALDH3B2) Antibody
This gene encodes a member of the aldehyde dehydrogenase family, a group of isozymes that may play a major role in the detoxification of aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. The gene of this particular family member is over 10 kb in length. The expression of these transcripts is restricted to the salivary gland among the human tissues examined. Alternate transcriptional splice variants have been characterized.
