AHNAK Nucleoprotein 2 (AHNAK2) Antibody (HRP)

Background

AHNAK2 is a homolog of AHNAK with similar structural and functional characteristics. It is a large, scaffold-like protein involved in cytoskeletal organization, cell-cell adhesion, and calcium-dependent signaling pathways. AHNAK2 is expressed in various tissues, including the epithelial lining and tumor cells, where it participates in regulating membrane dynamics and cellular integrity. Emerging research highlights its role in tumor biology, with elevated AHNAK2 expression observed in cancers such as renal cell carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, and pancreatic cancer, where it promotes tumor growth, invasion, and chemoresistance. AHNAK2 also appears to be involved in epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), a key process in cancer metastasis. While its specific roles in normal physiology are less understood compared to AHNAK, its overexpression in malignancies makes it a promising diagnostic marker and potential therapeutic target.
