Descripción
ADGRL4, formerly known as ELTD1 (EGF, Latrophilin, and Seven-Transmembrane Domain-Containing Protein 1), is expressed in vascular endothelial cells and plays an essential role in vascular remodeling, angiogenesis, and endothelial cell migration. By interacting with extracellular matrix components and signaling proteins, ADGRL4 influences cellular communication, proliferation, and the structural organization of blood vessels. It has been extensively studied for its involvement in tumor angiogenesis, where its overexpression correlates with aggressive cancer progression and poor prognosis. Beyond its role in pathological angiogenesis, ADGRL4 is critical for maintaining vascular stability and endothelial barrier function under normal physiological conditions. Dysregulation of ADGRL4 is associated with pathological vascular remodeling and cardiovascular diseases, emphasizing its potential as a therapeutic target in oncology and vascular medicine. Its multifunctional nature makes it a key player in both physiological vascular processes and disease states.
