Descripción
ADGRB2, or BAI2, is another member of the adhesion GPCR family with prominent expression in the central nervous system and vascular endothelial cells. It is involved in modulating vascular stability and angiogenesis through interactions with extracellular matrix proteins and intracellular signaling pathways. ADGRB2 is implicated in maintaining the blood-brain barrier and regulating vascular integrity, particularly during stress or injury. It also contributes to neurodevelopmental processes by influencing synapse formation and neuronal connectivity. Mutations or dysregulation of ADGRB2 have been linked to vascular abnormalities and potential roles in neurodegenerative diseases. Its functional overlap and synergy with other members of the ADGRB family emphasize its role in maintaining vascular and neural homeostasis.
