Descripción
Activity-dependent neuroprotector homeobox protein (ADNP) is a transcription factor and neuroprotective protein essential for brain development, neurogenesis, and chromatin remodeling through interactions with SWI/SNF chromatin-remodeling complexes It regulates gene expression critical for maintaining neuronal survival, synaptic plasticity, and cognitive processes Mutations or deletions in ADNP cause ADNP syndrome (Helsmoortel-Van der Aa syndrome), a neurodevelopmental disorder marked by intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder traits, motor dysfunction, and developmental delay ADNP is also linked to neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, where it modulates tau phosphorylation, amyloid toxicity, and neuronal resilience Dysregulation of ADNP disrupts cell cycle control, proliferation, and apoptosis pathways, leading to impaired neuronal health and cognitive decline ADNP’s broad involvement in transcriptional regulation, synaptic maintenance, and neuroprotection underscores its essential role in brain function, making it a potential therapeutic target for neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases

Activity Dependent Neuroprotector Protein (ADNP) Antibody
ADNP Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against ADNP. Vasoactive intestinal peptide is a neuroprotective factor that has a stimulatory effect on the growth of some tumor cells and an inhibitory effect on others. This gene encodes a protein that is upregulated by vasoactive intestinal peptide and may be involved in its stimulatory effect on certain tumor cells. The encoded protein contains one homeobox and nine zinc finger domains, suggesting that it functions as a transcription factor. This gene is also upregulated in normal proliferative tissues. Finally, the encoded protein may increase the viability of certain cell types through modulation of p53 activity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described.
