Actin Like 9 (ACTL9) Antibody

Background

ACTL9 is predominantly expressed in testicular tissues, where it functions during spermatogenesis. Structurally, ACTL9 contains a conserved actin fold and nucleotide-binding domains. Similar to other testis-specific actin-like proteins, ACTL9 is non-polymerizing and facilitates chromatin remodeling during sperm maturation. It is involved in acrosome formation and nuclear condensation, processes essential for functional spermatozoa development. Dysregulation of ACTL9 has been associated with impaired spermatogenesis and male infertility, underscoring its importance in germ cell biology.
