Description
TNF Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against TNF. TNF-α, the prototypical member of the TNF protein superfamily, is a homotrimeric type-II membrane proteinMembrane-bound TNF-α is cleaved by the metalloprotease TACE/ADAM17 to geneRate a soluble homotrimerBoth membrane and soluble forms of TNF-α are biologically activeTNF-α is produced by a variety of immune cells including T cells, B cells, NK cells, and macrophagesCellular response to TNF-α is mediated through interaction with receptors TNF-R1 and TNF-R2 and results in activation of pathways that favor both cell survival and apoptosis depending on the cell type and biological contextActivation of kinase pathways (including JNK, Erk (p44/42), p38 MAPK, and NF-κB) promotes the survival of cells, while TNF-α-mediated activation of caspase-8 leads to programmed cell deathTNF-α plays a key regulatory role in inflammation and host defense against bacterial infection, notably Mycobacterium tuberculosisThe role of TNF-α in autoimmunity is underscored by blocking TNF-α action to treat rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s diseaseThis protein is involved in Immunology.

Descripción
Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) is a versatile cytokine involvedl in numerous physiological and pathological processes. It holds a critical role in modulating immune responses, inflammation, and apoptosis. While predominantly produced by activated macrophages, TNF can also originate from various cell types like lymphocytes, mast cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts. Two well-known forms of TNF are TNF-alpha and TNF-beta, also referred to as lymphotoxin-alpha. TNF-alpha, being extensively studied, exists in both soluble and membrane-bound forms, both capable of initiating biological responses by binding to their respective receptors. TNF signaling operates through two receptors: TNFR1 and TNFR2. TNFR1 is ubiquitously expressed across cell types, whereas TNFR2 is primarily found in endothelial, epithelial, and certain immune cells. TNFR1 signaling typically triggers pro-inflammatory and apoptotic responses, while TNFR2 signaling exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and fosters cell proliferation. In autoimmune disease treatment, suppressing TNFR1 signaling has proved significant, whereas TNFR2 signaling supports wound healing. The primary function of TNF lies in regulating immune cells
