TSPY like 2 (TSPYL2) is a protein that is part of the TSPY gene family, known for its roles in regulating gene expression and cellular differentiation TSPYL2 is implicated in modulating transcriptional processes, particularly in tissues involved in reproductive development and stem cell maintenance It has been suggested that TSPYL2 may have a role in cell cycle regulation and apoptosis, although its exact functions in different tissues are still under investigation TSPYL2’s expression is found in various tissues, particularly in the brain and testis, and its expression levels may be crucial for tissue homeostasis and cell differentiation In cancer, aberrations in TSPYL2 expression may influence tumor progression, with some studies indicating its potential as a tumor suppressor Protein interactions with transcription factors and chromatin-modifying complexes suggest that TSPYL2 may play a role in maintaining genomic stability and regulating cellular responses to stress, contributing to its involvement in cellular integrity and disease prevention
