SCHISTOSOMA ICT IgG-IgM is a unitary qualitative rapid test based on the immune chromatography technology (lateral flow), allowing the simultaneous detection of both IgG and IgM class anti-Schistosoma antibodies in human sera.

SCHISTOSOMA ICT IgG-IgM es una prueba rápida cualitativa unitaria basada en la tecnología de inmunocromatografía (flujo lateral), que permite la detección simultánea de anticuerpos anti-Schistosoma de clase IgG e IgM en sueros humanos.

Background

Schistosomiasis are zoonoses due to the infection by hematophagous trematodes of the Schistosoma genus, that live in the circulatory system. Six species are pathogenic for humans: S. haematobium, S. mansoni, S. japonicum (the 3 main species), S. mekongi, S. intercalatum and S. guineensis. They are responsible of three forms of infection: intestinal, urogenital or arteriovenous.

La esquistosomiasis es una zoonosis causada por la infección de trematodos hematívoros del género Schistosoma, que viven en el sistema circulatorio. Seis especies son patógenas para los humanos: S. haematobium, S. mansoni, S. japonicum (las 3 especies principales), S. mekongi, S. intercalatum y S. guineensis. Son responsables de tres formas de infección: intestinal, urogenital o arteriovenosa.
