Nucleoporin 93 (NUP93) is another integral component of the nuclear pore complex, playing a critical role in the maintenance and function of the nuclear envelope NUP93 is involved in the structural formation of the nuclear pore and facilitates the transport of molecules, such as RNA and proteins, across the nuclear membrane It participates in the organization of the nuclear pore complex and is essential for the proper function of nucleocytoplasmic transport, ensuring that gene expression and cellular responses are maintained NUP93 also interacts with other nucleoporins to form the scaffold for the central pore and is involved in regulating the selective passage of molecules across the nuclear envelope Dysregulation of NUP93 has been associated with various diseases, including cancers, where defects in nuclear transport contribute to cellular dysfunction, uncontrolled growth, and metastasis Additionally, NUP93 plays a role in cellular signaling and maintaining nuclear integrity under stress conditions, highlighting its importance in preserving cellular homeostasis and response to environmental changes
