This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein.

Descripción

Estrogen receptor 2 (ESR2), also known as ERβ, is a closely related nuclear receptor that also mediates the effects of estrogen but has distinct roles compared to ESR1 ESR2 is expressed in a wide range of tissues, including the ovaries, prostate, brain, and cardiovascular system, where it regulates gene expression related to reproductive health, neuroprotection, and cardiovascular function ESR2 has a unique role in modulating the balance of estrogenic signaling, often acting to counterbalance the effects of ESR1 in certain tissues, such as the breast and prostate In the brain, ESR2 plays a protective role in neuronal function and is involved in processes like cognition, neurogenesis, and synaptic plasticity In addition to its neuroprotective functions, ESR2 is important for cardiovascular health, where it helps regulate vascular tone and reduce inflammation Dysregulation of ESR2 signaling is implicated in conditions such as cardiovascular disease, prostate cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases Its distinct functions make ESR2 an important target for therapeutic strategies aimed at treating estrogen-related diseases, with potential benefits in managing conditions like cancer, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular disorders

anti- ESR2 antibody

This gene encodes a member of the family of estrogen receptors and superfamily of nuclear receptor transcription factors. The gene product contains an N-terminal DNA binding domain and C-terminal ligand binding domain and is localized to the nucleus, cytoplasm, and mitochondria. Upon binding to 17beta-estradiol or related ligands, the encoded protein forms homo- or hetero-dimers that interact with specific DNA sequences to activate transcription. Some isoforms dominantly inhibit the activity of other estrogen receptor family members. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been fully characterized.

anti- ESR2 antibody

Nuclear hormone receptor. Binds estrogens with an affinity similar to that of ESR1, and activates expression of reporter genes containing estrogen response elements(ERE) in an estrogen-dependent manner(PubMed:20074560). Isoform beta-cx lacks ligand binding ability and has no or only very low ere binding activity resulting in the loss of ligand-dependent transactivation ability. DNA-binding by ESR1 and ESR2 is rapidly lost at 37 degrees Celsius in the absence of ligand while in the presence of 17 beta-estradiol and 4-hydroxy-tamoxifen loss in DNA-binding at elevated temperature is more gradual.
