Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the RAB family of small GTPases. The GTP-bound form of the encoded protein has been shown to interact with early-endosomal antigen 1, and may be involved in the trafficking of and interaction between endosomal compartments.

Descripción
RAB22A, member RAS oncogene family (RAB22A) is a member of the RAB family of small GTPases that plays a pivotal role in regulating vesicular trafficking, particularly in the recycling of proteins and lipids within cellular compartments RAB22A is involved in the movement of vesicles between endosomes and the plasma membrane, ensuring the proper sorting and trafficking of receptors, proteins, and other key molecules to their intended destinations It also regulates the dynamic processes of endocytosis and exocytosis, which are crucial for maintaining cellular homeostasis, signal transduction, and membrane recycling RAB22A is particularly important for controlling the trafficking of molecules that participate in cell-cell adhesion and the modulation of the extracellular matrix, impacting cell migration, wound healing, and tissue repair In cancer, RAB22A has been implicated in promoting metastasis by influencing cell adhesion and migration, leading to uncontrolled tumor spread Additionally, RAB22A is involved in immune cell trafficking, which affects inflammatory responses and immune system regulation Dysregulation of RAB22A’s activity can contribute to various pathologies, including neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and immune disorders

RAB22A antibody
Plays a role in endocytosis and intracellular protein transport. Mediates trafficking of TF from early endosomes to recycling endosomes. Required for NGF-mediated endocytosis of NTRK1, and subsequent neurite outgrowth. Binds GTP and GDP and has low GTPase activity. Alternates between a GTP-bound active form and a GDP-bound inactive form.
