Catalase-Specific antibody

CAT(Catalase) belongs to the catalase family. It is involved in catabolic pathway of activated oxygen species and free radical detoxification and the catalase overexpression has a protective role against UVB irradiation by preventing DNA damage mediated by the late ROS increase. Mammalian catalase of approximately 240 kD occurs as a complex of 4 identical subunits, each of which contains 526 amino acid residues(PMID:19122680). Defects in CAT are the cause of acatalasemia(ACATLAS). This antibody is specific to CAT.
