Background

ANGPT1 is a secreted glycoprotein that plays a critical role in angiogenesis, the process of new blood vessel formation, and the stabilization of vascular networks. ANGPT1 binds to and activates the Tie2 receptor, a tyrosine kinase expressed on endothelial cells, leading to signaling pathways that promote endothelial cell survival, migration, and the formation of stable, mature blood vessels.
