Descripción

RAB11B, member RAS oncogene family (RAB11B) is closely related to RAB11A and shares many functions in regulating intracellular vesicular trafficking, particularly in the recycling of endosomal vesicles and the transport of membrane proteins between the late endosomes and the recycling endosomes RAB11B plays a central role in ensuring proper receptor recycling, which is important for maintaining the homeostasis of cell surface protein expression and regulating cell signaling processes, including growth, differentiation, and adhesion It contributes to various cellular functions such as vesicle trafficking, cytokinesis, and microtubule organization, particularly during cell division, ensuring proper vesicle distribution and cytokinesis Furthermore, RAB11B is involved in regulating immune responses, as it affects the trafficking of immune receptors and cytokines, impacting immune cell signaling and function Disruptions in RAB11B’s function are implicated in a wide range of diseases, particularly in cancer, where defective vesicular trafficking leads to altered receptor availability, facilitating uncontrolled cell growth and metastasis Additionally, RAB11B is implicated in neurological diseases, where impairments in vesicular recycling and receptor trafficking contribute to neuronal dysfunction, as well as in metabolic diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes, where changes in glucose uptake and insulin sensitivity are associated with altered vesicle trafficking pathways

RAB11B, Member RAS Oncogene Family (RAB11B) Antibody

The Ras superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins, which includes the Ras (see MIM 190020), Ral (see MIM 179550), Rho (see MIM 165390), Rap (see MIM 179520), and Rab (see MIM 179508) families, is involved in controlling a diverse set of essential cellular functions. The Rab family, including RAB11B, appears to play a critical role in regulating exocytotic and endocytotic pathways (summary by Zhu et al., 1994 [PubMed 7811277]).[supplied by OMIM].
