Note | The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
CD58, also known as Lymphocyte Function-associated Antigen 3 (LFA-3), is a cell surface glycoprotein primarily involved in cell adhesion processes. It plays a critical role in the immune response by mediating the interaction between T cells and antigen-presenting cells (APCs). The CD58 protein is a member of the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily and is widely expressed on a variety of cell types, including epithelial cells, endothelial cells, lymphocytes, and dendritic cells. Its main binding partner is CD2, a receptor found on T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. This interaction is essential for the formation of the immune synapse, facilitating the activation of T cells and subsequent immune responses. CD58’s role is especially important in antigen presentation, where it helps T cells to recognize and respond to foreign antigens. The molecule is involved in co-stimulation during T-cell receptor (TCR) engagement, enhancing the immune system's ability to respond to pathogens, tumors, and other immunological challenges.

Ligand of the T-lymphocyte CD2 glycoprotein. This interaction is important in mediating thymocyte interactions with thymic epithelial cells, antigen-independent and-dependent interactions of T-lymphocytes with target cells and antigen-presenting cells and the T-lymphocyte rosetting with erythrocytes. In addition, the LFA-3/CD2 interaction may prime response by both the CD2+ and LFA-3+ cells.

Lymphocyte Function Associated Antigen 3 / LFA-3 (CD58) Antibody
CD58 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against CD58. This gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded protein is a ligand of the T lymphocyte CD2 protein, and functions in adhesion and activation of T lymphocytes. The protein is localized to the plasma membrane. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
