We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
Acid phosphatases (ACP) are a group of enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of phosphate ester bonds under acidic conditions, resulting in the release of inorganic phosphate from organic molecules. These enzymes are characterized by their ability to function optimally at low pH levels. There are multiple forms of acid phosphatase, often denoted as ACP1, ACP2, ACP3, ACP4, and ACP5. Each isoform may have distinct tissue distribution, substrate specificity, and physiological roles. ACP1. It is found in various tissues and body fluids, including red blood cells, bone, prostate gland, and semen. It is a biomarker for poor prognosis in prostate cancer has been linked to bad clinical prognosis. ACP1 (Low Molecular Weight Phosphotyrosine Phosphatase) is widely expressed in various tissues and is nvolved in the dephosphorylation of phosphotyrosine residues on proteins, modulating signal transduction pathways and cell proliferation.

The product of this gene belongs to the phosphotyrosine protein phosphatase family of proteins. It functions as an acid phosphatase and a protein tyrosine phosphatase by hydrolyzing protein tyrosine phosphate to protein tyrosine and orthophosphate. This enzyme also hydrolyzes orthophosphoric monoesters to alcohol and orthophosphate. This gene is genetically polymorphic, and three common alleles segregating at the corresponding locus give rise to six phenotypes. Each allele appears to encode at least two electrophoretically different isozymes, Bf and Bs, which are produced in allele-specific ratios. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
