Descripción
LRRC3B is a tumor suppressor protein expressed in various tissues where it modulates cell growth and apoptosis its expression is frequently downregulated in cancers such as gastric colorectal and breast cancer due to epigenetic silencing through promoter hypermethylation LRRC3B is believed to inhibit cancer progression by modulating Wnt/β-catenin signaling and other pathways involved in cell proliferation and survival loss of LRRC3B function contributes to tumorigenesis by disrupting cell cycle regulation and enhancing cellular migration and invasion studies indicate it may also influence the tumor microenvironment by regulating extracellular matrix remodeling and cell-cell adhesion its potential as a biomarker for early cancer detection and prognosis is being actively explored as is its reactivation through epigenetic therapies targeting promoter methylation further research is necessary to fully characterize its tumor-suppressive mechanisms and therapeutic applications in oncology
