Interleukin-17B His Tag Protein is a recombinant cytokine.
The Interleukin 17 family is a group of pro-inflammatory cystine knot cytokines primarily produced by T helper 17 cells in response to stimulation with IL-23. IL17A, was previously known in rodents as CTLA8. In humans, The IL-17 family includes IL17A (sometimes referred to as "IL-17"), IL17B, IL17C, IL17D, IL17E (also known as IL-25), and IL17F. One of the most prominent roles of IL-17 is its participation in initiating and mediating proinflammatory responses. IL-17 is commonly associated with allergic reactions and can induce the production of various other cytokines (such as IL-6, G-CSF, GM-CSF, IL-1β, TGF-β, TNF-α), chemokines (including IL-8, GRO-α, and MCP-1), and prostaglandins (e.g., PGE2) from different cell types, including fibroblasts, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, keratinocytes, and macrophages
