Descripción
IGSF10 is a transmembrane protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed in neuronal tissues and the reproductive axis. Structurally, it features multiple Ig-like domains that facilitate cell-cell adhesion and signaling. IGSF10 is crucial for regulating neuronal migration, particularly during the development of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neurons, which are essential for pubertal onset. Mutations or dysregulation of IGSF10 are linked to delayed puberty due to impaired GnRH neuron migration. Beyond its role in reproductive health, IGSF10 may participate in neural circuit formation and cellular communication in the CNS.
