This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein.

Descripción

SERPIND1 encodes Heparin Cofactor II (HCII), a serine protease inhibitor (serpin) that plays a critical role in the regulation of coagulation. It shares functional similarities with antithrombin (SERPINC1), particularly in inhibiting thrombin, a key enzyme in the coagulation cascade. However, HCII exhibits a more specialized function as its activity is highly dependent on heparin-like glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), particularly dermatan sulfate, and to a lesser extent, heparin. HCII's involvement in thrombin inhibition and its activation through GAGs have made it an essential component in controlling clot formation and preventing thrombosis, particularly in vascular tissue. HCII deficiency has been linked to a predisposition for thromboembolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases.

SERPIND1 antibody

Thrombin inhibitor activated by the glycosaminoglycans, heparin or dermatan sulfate. In the presence of the latter, HC-II becomes the predominant thrombin inhibitor in place of antithrombin III(AT-III). Also inhibits chymotrypsin, but in a glycosaminoglycan-independent manner. Peptides at the N-terminal of HC-II have chemotactic activity for both monocytes and neutrophils.

Serpin D1 (SERPIND1) Antibody

SERPIND1 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against SERPIND1. The product encoded by this gene is a serine proteinase inhibitor which rapidly inhibits thrombin in the presence of dermatan sulfate or heparin. The gene contains five exons and four introns. This protein shares homology with antithrombin III and other members of the alpha 1-antitrypsin superfamily. Mutations in this gene are associated with heparin cofactor II deficiency.
