Form | Lyophilized To keep the original salt concentration, we recommend reconstituting to the original concentration prior to lyophilization (see Concentration) in ddH2O. If a lower concentration is required, dilute in PBS, pH 7.4. If a higher concentration is required, the product can be reconstituted directly in PBS, pH 7.4, though please note that this will change the overall salt concentration. The stock concentration should be between 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. |

Descripción
CHRM3 encodes the cholinergic receptor muscarinic 3, another receptor in the muscarinic acetylcholine receptor family that primarily couples to Gq/11 proteins. Upon activation by acetylcholine, CHRM3 stimulates phospholipase C (PLC), leading to increased production of inositol triphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG), which together elevate intracellular calcium ion concentrations and activate downstream signaling pathways. CHRM3 is abundantly expressed in smooth muscle tissues of the gastrointestinal tract, bladder, and lungs, where it plays a key role in mediating smooth muscle contraction. It is critical for processes such as gastrointestinal motility, bronchoconstriction, and urinary bladder contraction. In the CNS, CHRM3 contributes to cognitive function and neuronal signaling. Dysregulation of CHRM3 has been implicated in disorders like overactive bladder syndrome, asthma, and certain types of cancer. Pharmacologically, CHRM3 antagonists, such as antimuscarinics, are used to treat conditions like overactive bladder, while agonists could be explored for potential use in cognitive enhancement. CHRM3 remains a critical target for both autonomic regulation and emerging therapies in neurological disorders and cancer research.
