Note | Validity: The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
CIDEA is a lipid droplet-associated protein involved in regulating lipid metabolism and energy homeostasis. It promotes lipid droplet fusion and inhibits lipolysis by modulating the activity of key enzymes such as adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL). CIDEA is highly expressed in brown adipose tissue, where it contributes to thermogenesis and energy expenditure. Beyond its metabolic functions, CIDEA also plays a role in apoptosis, where it interacts with caspase-activated DNAse to mediate DNA fragmentation. Dysregulation of CIDEA is associated with obesity, insulin resistance, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Research on CIDEA focuses on its dual roles in lipid metabolism and apoptosis, offering potential therapeutic targets for metabolic disorders and cancer.

Acts as a CEBPB coactivator in mammary epithelial cells to control the expression of a subset of CEBPB downstream target genes, including ID2, IGF1, PRLR, SOCS1, SOCS3, XDH, but not casein. By interacting with CEBPB, strengthens the association of CEBPB with the XDH promoter, increases histone acetylation and dissociates HDAC1 from the promoter(By similarity). Binds to lipid droplets and regulates their enlargement, thereby restricting lipolysis and favoring storage. At focal contact sites between lipid droplets, promotes directional net neutral lipid transfer from the smaller to larger lipid droplets. The transfer direction may be driven by the internal pressure difference between the contacting lipid droplet pair and occurs at a lower rate than that promoted by CIDEC. When overexpressed, induces apoptosis. The physiological significance of its role in apoptosis is unclear.
