Lyophilized To keep the original salt concentration, we recommend reconstituting to the original concentration prior to lyophilization (see Concentration) in ddH2O. If a lower concentration is required, dilute in PBS, pH 7.4. If a higher concentration is required, the product can be reconstituted directly in PBS, pH 7.4, though please note that this will change the overall salt concentration. The stock concentration should be between 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex.

Descripción

AVPR1B is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds the hormone arginine vasopressin (AVP), a key regulator of water balance, blood pressure, and social behaviors. This receptor is primarily expressed in the anterior pituitary, where it plays an important role in the secretion of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) in response to stress. AVPR1B also plays a role in regulating behaviors associated with the stress response, including anxiety and social interactions. Upon activation, AVPR1B couples to Gq proteins, stimulating phospholipase C (PLC) and increasing intracellular calcium, leading to the release of ACTH from the pituitary gland. Dysregulation of AVPR1B is associated with stress-related disorders, such as anxiety and depression, and alterations in AVPR1B signaling have been implicated in diseases such as Cushing's syndrome and some forms of neuroendocrine tumors. Targeting AVPR1B with antagonists is being explored for the treatment of stress-related diseases and disorders linked to excessive ACTH secretion.

Vasopressin V1b Receptor (AVPR1B) Antibody

The protein encoded by this gene acts as receptor for arginine vasopressin. This receptor belongs to the subfamily of G-protein coupled receptors which includes AVPR1A, V2R and OXT receptors. Its activity is mediated by G proteins which stimulate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The receptor is primarily located in the anterior pituitary, where it stimulates ACTH release. It is expressed at high levels in ACTH-secreting pituitary adenomas as well as in bronchial carcinoids responsible for the ectopic ACTH syndrome. A spliced antisense transcript of this gene has been reported but its function is not known.
